Before we talk about Dougal, let’s talk about Charlotte, as she was the first person to mention him in an early comment on this blog.
Charlotte, known as Char to her dear friend Sherpa Shirl, has been the most prolific and prompt commenter on this blog. Her comments are always fantastically supportive and sometimes practically helpful.
As well as being a great supporter, Char is a Sherpa in her own right, and whimsically, Sherpa Char is a gentle form of nominative determinism given the critical importance of running ahead to brew the tea.
Perhaps Char’s pithiest and most actionable comment so far was simply: ‘Slay The Dragon!’. Which brings us nicely to Dougal McDangerous, the Schizophrenic Tumor Dragon.
Tumors are a species of dragon which are sometimes benign and sometimes malignant. Dougal is a special case. As you can see, he is in his benign state on Mapa Carcinoma, frolicking off the east coast with one of the locals who has a longterm relationship with Dougal in his benign state.
But Dougal is schizophrenic, and once he comes inland over Carcinoma, or any of the other islands in the Cancerian Archipelago, he becomes distinctly malignant.
We are pretty sure that before we reach the Holy Ramekin we will be having a good old set to with Dougal, so I’ve been limbering up with some blind Claymore swinging. Sherpa Shirl still has all her limbs but words have been exchanged.
Here’s a slightly obscure tune from Yazoo including some very sage two part advice for Dougal to ponder to its full extent: “Dragons, the policeman knew, are supposed to breathe fire, and occasionally get themselves slaughtered”.
Thank you so much Commander Chris.... it is an honour to be part of this renegade gang of multiple personalities and abilities.... and yes, tea is TERRIBLY important....
From a supporters point of view it’s a great start to the day, even brings out a slight slavishness in the followers, waiting for the next episode.... not to be confused with stalkishness..... any light relief must be regarded as a blessed relief if nothing more.... but there is a considerable amount of rooting going on, willing that each step and day you take is one closer to a good resolution.... xxxxxx
